- Vaccine Duration
  - This article reviews the durations of several canine and feline vaccines. According to the article, the core vaccines (such as parvo, distemper, and adenovirus) need only be given once every three years. The non-core vaccines have been shown to be required more often to keep protection at a high enough level.
- Dog Genome
  - This article is a review of the result that came directly out of the dog genome project. It looks are the relationship between dog and their wild cousins as seen through their DNA.
- Dog vs Wolf
  - This article looks at the way the loss of selective pressure has changed dog DNA faster than that of wolves and coyotes. It has been observed taht dogs have accumilated mitochondrial gene changes at a much faster rate than their wild cousins.
- Dog Diversity
  - This article looks into the genetic diversity in dogs. They note that dogs have a huge number of SINEs (short interspersed elements) and they vary greatly between the breeds. SINEs are retrotransposons which are the remnents of viruses that entered the genome millions of year ago and got stuck there.
- Purebred Dog Differences
  - As if we didn't already know, science has proven that there are recognizable differences between dog breeds. A very cool article and a bit easier to understand than some of the others. The applications are great because this info might some day soon be able to be used to tell what breed a dog is just from the DNA alone. They were able to do this during the experiment with a 98% accuracy. Neat!

  - This is of no importance in the veterinary world but interesting none the less. Ever wondered what is causing psoriasis? This article looks into the immune functions that go wrong and cause this irritating disease in humans.
